New Year Slow Start Promise Kept

Finally, as promised here is the information on how I created the decorative glass block.  This is very picture intensive but I hope it will be worth your time.

The first step is to choose the image you would like to use. I have used pictures I have found on the Internet and have created others using a digital scrap booking software. I use "My Memories"  software to create a square image.  Once I like the image i import it into the free Silhouette Studio software

and size it at about 5x5 inches. I like using this to size because it is super simple and accurate,

After I have it the size I want  I send it to my printer The printer settings for the positionable are Matt Photo and best quality I however find my printer puts too much ink on that setting so I have been using the normal for mine. Every one's printer is different and you will have to do a little experimenting to get what works for you

Now if you have a Cameo or a Portrait  you can use that to cut your image. I don't so i have to use my paper trimmer.

Not a problem it cuts quite easily and nicely as you can see ...

You could even use a pair of scissors or an Exacto knife if you prefer either of those methods.

Once it is cut I like to add a little ink along the edges to finish it off,
Next step is putting it on the glass block. The beauty of this product is that it can be removed and reused later.

Here I am taking the New Years image off the block No STICKY residue to deal with on the glass. I like that.

I kept the backing piece and here you see me  putting it back onto that so I can reuse it in the future
If you loose the backing you can use wax paper instead.

Next step is to peel the new image off the backing sheet  Remember to keep the backing  ( I have a folder that I keep my printed repositionable in )

and place it on the glass block add a new ribbon bow if you want  I left the New Years one on (would have used silver but didn't have any I liked for this project LOL)

and here you have your newly decorated block,
This was a gift for my daughter her Birthday was February 9th.

I also created a replacement piece for Valentines day This one used a picture I found on the Internet when I googled valentine images I just cropped it re sized it to 5x5 inches, printed and cut it ,

Well I hope you have enjoyed this little tutorial
